Feb 10, 2003 · I have been assigned with reviewing a job spec, onboard a ship, that calls for welding on EH 36 steel, which I have never heard of, and can find very little info on. And I have a couple of questions, if someone could answer them or point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. 1) What is Eh 36 steel? 2) What rod is used to weld that?

Now, I have a job to weld EH36 material. Since the standard and base metal specification for EH36 is ASTM & A131, I would like to know if I can perform welding on this material using my existing WPS as per above without the need to do another WPS for specific EH36 grade.
